The Sicán necklace is named after the pre-Inca Sicán culture of Peru’s northern coast, famed for its fine metalwork. This obsidian and mother-of-pearl necklace is built from oval designs in silver. Then, deep black obsidian and luminous mother-of-pearl create a striking contrast.
Ilaria is a Peruvian jewelry house founded in 1992 by Italian-born designer Ilaria Ciabatti. Today, more than 100 skilled artisans work with the brand. Together, they blend contemporary design with Peru’s long silversmithing heritage and draw inspiration from pre-Inca traditions. In addition, they shape and finish every piece by hand.
Pair it with black, white or neutral outfits for an elegant monochrome look. Also, it lifts a simple knit or a crisp shirt at the office. For evenings, wear it with your hair up to show off the ovals. Therefore, it adapts easily from day to night. Finally, it is a refined gift for a woman who loves graphic jewelry.
Materials: 925 sterling silver with mother-of-pearl and obsidian. Designer: Ilaria. Line: Ethnic. Listed measurement: approx. 45 cm (17.72″).
Mother-of-pearl is delicate, so avoid water, perfume and harsh cleaners, and store the necklace flat in a soft pouch.
