Discover our collection of Chilean ruanas: light, open-front wraps handmade in La Ligua, Chile’s historic knitting town. A ruana is the lighter cousin of the poncho, an easy layer that drapes from the shoulders and moves with you, perfect for cool mornings, travel and between seasons.
Our ruanas are made by Unik, a family textile workshop that keeps the craft of La Ligua alive. Some are knitted with two strands of soft HB and Londres yarns on traditional knitting machines; others are handwoven on a loom and finished with decorative fringe.
Chilean Tradition, Everyday Style
Many of our ruanas feature motifs rooted in Chile’s rural and equestrian heritage, from the classic horseshoe of the huaso world to the copihue, the country’s national flower. In Chile, ruanas like these complete the traditional huasa outfit for cueca dancing and the September national holidays, yet they are just as easy to wear over jeans, dresses or a winter coat.
Explore our handmade ruanas and find a light, versatile wrap with real Chilean identity.
