This Chan Chan silver necklace draws on the iconography of Chan Chan, the vast adobe capital of the Chimú. The Chimú were master builders and metalworkers on Peru’s northern coast. Here, their motifs meet purple amethyst and carved blue-green chrysocolla.
Ilaria is a Peruvian jewelry house founded in 1992 by Italian-born designer Ilaria Ciabatti. Today, more than 100 skilled artisans work with the brand. Together, they blend contemporary design with Peru’s long silversmithing heritage and draw inspiration from pre-Inca traditions. In addition, they shape and finish every piece by hand.
Wear it over a high-neck sweater or a flowing tunic for a bohemian look. Also, the long length works well with shirt dresses and blazers. Then, keep earrings small, so the stones remain the focus. Because of its cultural story, it is a wonderful gift for travelers and history lovers. Finally, it brings a piece of Peru’s past into everyday style.
Materials: 925 sterling silver, amethyst and carved chrysocolla. Designer: Ilaria. Line: Ethnic. Total length: approx. 68 cm (26.77″).
Avoid water, perfume and direct sunlight for long periods, and store the necklace in a soft pouch.
