Description

The Ailín Pink Mapuche Three-Stripe Poncho is the essence of the traditional Chilean huaso poncho: a garment of great presence, warmth and character, made to last for many years. It comes in soft pink with three vicuña Mapuche-inspired stripes and is made by Unik, a family textile workshop from La Ligua, Chile.

It is handwoven on a traditional loom with 3 strands of sheep’s wool with a percentage of alpaca fiber. The result is a thick, warm and resilient textile designed to keep its shape and quality over time.

Its generous, traditional cut drapes from the shoulders and leaves room to move freely, so the poncho layers easily over sweaters and jackets.

Like the best handwoven pieces, this pink Mapuche poncho is made to be worn for years and even handed down from generation to generation, carrying the pride of the Chilean countryside wherever you go.

Unik brings the traditional Chilean huaso poncho to a new generation. Each poncho is handwoven on a traditional loom from sheep's wool blended with a percentage of alpaca fiber, creating a thick, warm and durable textile with natural water-repellent properties. The designs celebrate the textile heritage of southern Chile, from classic peinecillo bands in natural tones to Mapuche-inspired geometric patterns, with options in black, blue, rose and earthy beige, some with an integrated hood. A timeless piece of Chilean craftsmanship, made to be worn for years.
