Kuifi Kimun
Kuifi Kimün is a women-led artisan collective from south-central Chile—centered in Tirúa, Cañete, Contulmo, and Lumaco—that translates from Mapudungun as “ancestral wisdom.” Since 2021, the group has brought together around 40 Mapuche weavers working on traditional looms to revive and contemporize native textile practices. They craft functional but beautifully designed pieces—rugs, throws, runners, scarves and more—using high-quality natural fibers and authentic patterns. Beyond artistry, Kuifi Kimün also empowers Indigenous women economically and culturally, offering training, fair compensation and access to new markets while keeping their textile heritage vibrantly alive
