Shake or vacuum to remove dust and most dirt, taking care not to catch the fur in the vacuum rollers. For harder-to-reach dirt, sprinkle in baby powder, cornmeal or sawdust, brush it in, then shake. Spots come out easily with an alcohol-based spot remover; stubborn stains should be handled by a professional fur cleaner.
